On 1st of December 2011 University of Tartu celebrated the 92nd anniversary of acting as Estonia's national university and providing education in Estonian language. The University’s Anniversary Ball, which is organized by Student council of University of Tartu, has been the place where students, alumni, lecturers and professors meet to celebrate with their alma mater. It has become a tradition that Playtech is the partner for Student council of University of Tartu with organizing this event.

On 26th of November once again took place TEDxTartu conference, where 11 outstanding speakers with diverse backgrounds shared their close to heart achievements, know-hows and ideas. Each one of them gave their best to create famous TED conference-alike experience. Playtech is again the main partner of the event.

Juha Olavi Korhonen (39) is stepping down as the Subsidiary Director of Playtech Estonia. Starting from October, the company's Estonian development center and its personnel department will be headed by Playtech Estonia's current HR Director Kaari Simson (33).

As in the past five years, Playtech sponsored also this year’s game programming competition which gathers the brightest heads among Estonian upper secondary school students and is organized by the Science School of Tartu University. As an important improvement, also university students were welcome to join the competition this year, in a separate category.
